your nippers involvement
OGSLSC relies fully on volunteers to deliver our Nippers programs. We expect all parents to get involved in some way. There is a role to suit everyone!The Nippers Junior Activities Committee coordinates and manages the delivery of the Nipper programs. It takes a vast number of roles to safely run a Nipper program for the enjoyment of all kids. It is an expectation that all Nipper parents will help in some way to run the program either in formal roles or by regularly helping on the beach.
Actively participating as a volunteer is one of the best ways to watch and assist your children develop their skills and confidence around the beach and water.

Communications and staying in touch
For day to day communication, the Nippers team uses Stack Team App. Full details/instructions are emailed to new parents along with membership confirmation.

Even if you don’t hold a Bronze Medallion, there will be a role to suit you.
If you are keen to gain your Bronze and help out with water safety, that’s great! We run an Adults Bronze course in September/October each year. More info at Lifesaving/Awards&Training/Upcoming courses.

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN
At OGSLSC, we take the protection and wellbeing of children and young people very seriously.
General members including Nipper parents must hold a current Working with Children Card linked to OGSLSC.

Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club receives donations from locals and visitors alike, to continue to maintain a safe beach environment for swimmers, surfers and beach goers. With these vital donations we are able to continue to offer our community services, water safety and education programs and provide facilities for our community and memberss.
