Working with Children Checks (WWCC) are FREE for volunteers. All the info below applies equally to an Employee WWCC.

Per Life Saving Victoria and OGSLSC policy, all adult members (including both Nipper parents, except for genuine one-parent families) must hold a current WWCC AND OGSLSC must be listed on the card as an organisation. We must have received evidence of this BEFORE we can process your nipper memberships. Until then, your applications are pending and your child can’t start nippers.

From 19/10/26 all new and renewing WWCC applications include a compulsory child safe training component. This takes around 30 min to complete.

Add OGSLSC to an existing WWC card

When a person has correctly added OGSLSC as an organisation to their current WWCC, the club receives an automatic email then hard copy letter confirming WWCC link up.

Memberships can’t be finalised without evidence that OGSLSC is listed on the card.

If you are unwilling to follow through with WWCC requirements, we cannot accept your membership application.

The following are the only exceptions:

1. Honorary or Life members who are not involved in regular club activities

2. Social Members – lounge access only, not involved in any regular club activities and do not hold a key to the club

If you already have a card, you’ll need to click on the above link/login to your Service Victoria app, Volunteering/WWCC/Update my Details, then Add an Organisation.

‘Adding an organisation’: List OGSLSC’s address as PO Box 486 / 28 Surf Beach Rd, Ocean Grove VIC 3226 so that the confirmation letter reaches us. We prefer address: PO Box 486 OG but it seems WWCC may have dis-allowed PO Box addresses. List the email address as admin@oceangroveslsc.asn.au . At the same time please also list Life Saving Victoria as an organisation: 200 The Boulevard, Port Melbourne VIC 3207, email address: integrity@lsv.com.au

 The club receives an automatic email then hard copy letter confirming this, approx 10 days following. Memberships can’t be finalised without evidence that OGSLSC is listed on card.

Renewing members: WWCCs last five years, so once your database record has your current card info and club link has been verified, no action is usually needed as long as you renew the card. Each time a WWCC is renewed, OGSLSC should receive an automatic email and letter verifying the renewal, as long as we remain listed as an organisation. If you don’t renew a card within 3 months of it expiring, and have to apply for a new card, OGSLSC will need to be correctly added on the new card.

You can renew a card up to six months prior to its expiry date. Not a bad idea, to ensure you continue to be covered!

New cards Make sure you include OGSLSC as an organisation, with email address admin@oceangroveslsc.asn.au and address: PO Box 486 or 28 or 30 Surf Beach Rd, Ocean Grove, when you apply. At the same time please also list Life Saving Victoria as an organisation: 200 The Boulevard, Port Melbourne VIC 3207, email address: integrity@lsv.com.au 

It takes up to four weeks to be processed (and for the email and hard copy letter to come to OGSLSC).

Please note that your personal information will be shared with the Department of Government Services and the Social Services Regulator where required.

Teachers: Life Saving Victoria has updated its WWCC Policy to allow teachers to register OGSLSC through their VIT. Use this link: https://service.vic.gov.au/services/teachers-notifications/ An email is automatically (instantly) sent to the club, confirming. 

Troubleshooting: If you haven’t heard from us, or OGSLSC admin advises you that we haven’t received an email or letter despite OGSLSC showing up on the WWCC website as an organisation on your card, we recommend that you login again to Service Victoria, Volunteering/WWCC/ Edit my Details/Add an Organisation. Then delete OGSLSC, then ‘add organisation’ again with correct email and address as above (this should kick off the notification to us).

Turning 18: 17 year old members will receive an email reminding them to apply for a WWCC. Please action this as soon as possible – you can apply for a card well before turning 18. Your access fob will be turned off if requirements haven’t been met by the time they turn 18.

The onus is on families to complete all requirements if they wish to join our Nipper program.   We do understand it can be a tricky process to navigate, so you are welcome to email us with any queries.  We will reply as soon as possible.  Processing is based on first-in-best-dressed once all of the above steps have been completed.
