SUNDAY CORE NIPPERS
Sunday mornings, November to February. Children will gain surf life saving skills and qualify for competition (if they wish) in a fun environment.
Children start learning about surf awareness, safety and surf skills based around the Surf Life Saving Education Program (Surf Ed) and develop and practice those skills.
This National program is structured specifically to their ages and abilities, gradually teaching kids basic lifesaving skills required to be safe around an aquatic environment as well as developing their skills to compete in surf sports and become future life savers. This is a core requirement for kids wishing to also do the surf sport program. All Nippers wishing to compete at the state championships must have completed their surf education certificate through either the Sunday Core program or summer intensive Surf Education program.
This is done in an environment of fun, healthy lifestyle and camaraderie which is unique to surf lifesaving. Coaches will assess and cater for a variety of abilities.
Nippers do not have to attend all sessions.
