Registering for Nippers
The registration process can be a little tricky. Please read all of the info below to ensure you don’t miss any steps. Memberships for the 2025/26 season opens on 1 August 2025.Nippers must be 7 years of age on or before 30 September in the year of application for their membership to be accepted.
Children under the age of 13 must join with at least one parent/guardian, under a family membership. So to register for nippers, you need to take out a Family Membership with the club first.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARDS
Both parents (if applicable) must hold current WWCC, so confirm that is all in order.
Importantly, OGSLSC must be correctly linked on cards. The club will receive confirmation of correctly linked WWCC checks.
APPLY/RENEW AND PAY
If you are a new family, apply and pay for all family members aged 7+ here new family membership
If you are a returning family, renew all family members and pay via your SLS Hub account.
Tip: look for the red ‘Make Payment’ button at the end of the process, as applications cannot be processed without payment.
SUBMIT NIPPER REGISTRATION FORM
Complete the Nippers Registration form.
This is where you will need to nominate your chosen nippers stream. See the Nipper Programs page for more information.
Registration can’t be completed until all the above steps have been completed.

Preliminary Skills Evaluation
It’s a Life Saving Victoria (LSV) requirement that every Nipper completes a Preliminary Swim Evaluation, before they can participate in Nipper training programs.
The Preliminary Skills Evaluation Form outlines the requirements by age group.
If you couldn’t make one of the two OGSLSC evaluations in August, Geelong Swim Club are also offering to sign nippers off at Christian College Middle School Aquatic Centre on Sunday mornings between 9-11.30am.
To book an evaluation with them just email info@geelongsclts.org.au and they’ll get back to you with an available time. Note they will charge a fee of $15 per assessment.
Alternatively, you can arrange your own assessment via your swim school. Assessments must be completed and signed by a qualified swim instructor before being emailed to nippers@oceangroveslsc.asn.au
This is an important step to ensure the safety of all nippers. The swim evaluation form must be completed before Nippers are able to participate in training sessions.
Save the Date
Come along to the club on Sunday 14th September from 2-4pm:
- Meet and greet coaches and age managers
- Get to know other nipper families
- Tour the facilities and learn about the club
- Ask questions in a relaxed setting
- Discover opportunities to get involved
- Fun nipper games and activities from 2:30pm
We’re looking forward to seeing lots of new faces there. Arrive at 1:45pm for a 2pm start.

Nippers is a wonderful community that is run by the Junior Activities Committee and relies completely on its volunteer team.
There are a number of ways to lend a hand, both in and out of the water. We encourage all parents to get involved in a volunteer role to help deliver a successful program for our nippers.
We also recognise we have a talented group of parents on the beach with a variety of skills, so if there’s something in particular you think you can contribute, we’d love to hear from you – feel free to get in touch with nippers@oceangroveslsc.asn.au
