Feb 2018 Race results and print certificate
The 2018 Rip to River was postponed due to extreme heat on 6 January 2018.
All entries were carried over to the new date, 18 February. It was perfect running weather - 24 degree weather with a light breeze. Food vans and live music encouraged families to stay around after the event.
A 10 km surf beach run from "The Rip" at Point Lonsdale to Ocean Grove by the Barwon River.
Arguably the oldest Fun Run in Australia, the Rip to River, held early every Summer, is one of the club's most iconic events. It is also our single biggest fundraiser and each year we welcome approximately 1500 runners to the pristine hard sand track from the Pt Lonsdale lighthouse to the main beach at Ocean Grove.
If you have any questions, please use the form below to contact the Club about the Rip to River.
The Rip to River is made up of four events:
- 10km Classic Run (start time TBC, Pt Lonsdale Beach below the lighthouse)
- 10km Walk (start time TBC, Pt Lonsdale Beach below the lighthouse) Note this is an unmarshalled event, so although entrants are timed, no prizes are awarded.
- 5km Beach Run (start time TBC, Ocean Grove Main Beach)
- 1.4km Ripper Nipper (start time TBC, Ocean Grove Main Beach)
These events are all held on the beach.
