Skills Maintenance (Requal)
To remain eligible to patrol and compete, members must requalify their awards yearly, at the start of the season. All expire on 31 December, eg. requals done in late 2018 for 2018/19 season will expire end December 2019. SLSA gives a grace period of four years in which a lapsed award can be requalified. After this period, the award must be completed from scratch.
Online theory completion is required for SRC, Bronze Medallion, ARTC GOLD MEDALLION, IRBC, IRBD & ROC candidates.
Please make sure that you complete your online theory component and BOOK IN ONLINE for the practical component.
Go to Life Saving Victoria Skills Maintenance from Anywhere to do your theory online and book in to do your requal. See Anna's 'Foolproof tips to be ready for requal' below!
- Saturday 24th November Bancoora 10am
- Sunday 2nd December 13th Beach 10am (subject to ramp issue)
- Saturday 8th December Pt Lonsdale 10am
- Saturday 15th December Ocean Grove 8am
- Thursday 27 December Bancoora 8am (TBC)
Note there will only be one requal opportunity at Grove this year, due to not having a clubhouse.
All listed sessions will requal Bronze Medallion. Please note that other awards may not be offered for a given time and/or venue. For example, if you need to update IRB Crew, phone the club in question and make sure they will requal IRB Crew on that day.
On the day you will need to:
- Show proof of completion of online component
- Have booked in online for EACH award you wish to requalify for
- Bring Marine Boat Licence (IRBD only)

Anna's 'Foolproof tips to be ready for requal'
Go to http://mt.lsv-from-anywhere.com.au/login. Create an account if you haven't already got one (and note this is a separate account from Members Area). Go to Skills Maintenance. Find SM-Bronze Medallion (then do the same for other awards you hold). Launch. It will allow you to go through your theory test, 35 questions (Note you don't have to get 100%). At the end, click on Complete, then return to Skills Management. The Bronze Medallion bit should now show a blue button, 'Book Practical'. Click on eg. OG 15 Dec (or another location/date), then 'Book'.
Make sure you then go to My Results, scroll to Skills Maintenance Theory Certificates, 'Download Certificate'. You need to print this (or have it on a device to show us) and bring it along on requal day.
You must also be a financial member by requal day. Note, this means you have renewed via members area, paid membership fee, have WWCC up to date (with OGSLSC listed on card!), and no outstanding club debt from last season.
